A crash on the SR-74 near Perris claimed the life of a 20-year-old Lake Elsinore man and a 24-year-old Costa Mesa woman. (Renee Schiavone/Patch) ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A 23-year-old Costa Mesa woman and a 20-year-old Lake Elsinore man both died as the result of a head-on collision on California State Route 74 just west of 7th street in Perris overnight, California Highway Patrol officer Mike Lassig reported. Shortly after 11:30 p.m., the man, driving a 2008 Honda CRV eastbound on SR-74, drifted across lanes into a Nissan Sentra, heading westbound on the same road, Lassig wrote.
